Fragments of a Dream

Between 1984 and 1993 OrangeBox recorded the compositions of many aspiring local musicians and artists at its compact, West Yorkshire studio. Of particular significance are the results of a short collaboration between two individuals who, at the time, were widely tipped for stardom. However, fate can be cruel. It is often said that a fine line exists between genius and madness, and both of these immensely talented songwriters succumbed to the crippling symptoms of mental illness - Their immense potential crushed.

For twenty years, these songs have gathered dust. The analogue tapes on which they were recorded slowly disintegrating. Then, starting in 2004, a determined effort was made to save them. The original 4-track masters were restored, remixed and re-mastered using digital technology.

Although these tunes are, at best, merely 'demos' and fragments of a beautiful dream, it is enough, for now, that they are finally available. This project is very much a 'work in progress'. More songs will be added to this page as time allows.
